I photographed Chau’s sister’s wedding a few years ago in Lodi. Now it’s her turn! We hung out around UOP’s Morris Chapel to photograph their engagement. They both attended school at UOP and met each other there as well. Here are a few photos from their session.

Here are some of my favorite photos from Kim and Matt’s destination wedding at the Kahala Hotel in Hawaii! If you’ve been following me on Facebook and Instagram, you’d probably know that Kim has been a long time friend of mine since college. We both had ambitions to become lawyers and help change the world for the better. I ended becoming photographer instead, while Kim actually did continue on to law school and passed the bar. I’m so proud of you Kim! Over the years of knowing Kim, I’ve learned that family is one of the most important things to her, especially her parents. I’m so glad I got to witness and capture this love first hand with a few emotional exchanges between her and her parents during the wedding day. In addition to the beautiful backdrop and aloha spirit of Hawaii, what made this wedding so special were the people at the wedding- especially the bridesmaid and groomsmen. They definitely brought “hyphy” to the island of Oahu. Here are a few of my favorite photos from their wedding in Hawaii at the Kahala Resort.

Sarah and Kyle had their Egyptian wedding reception at The Citizen Hotel in Sacramento. This was one day out of the three days in their wedding celebration. Sarah and Kyle had me document only their wedding reception since they’ve already had their ceremony and the other wedding was going to be in Egypt. Their reception at the Citizen Hotel was filled with their good friend and family as well as dances from belly dancers. These dancers really got the wedding guest hyped and entertained. Since there was no ceremony, there was just a lot of partying and dancing. It was pretty fun to photograph them. We also spent a part of the day exploring downtown Sacramento and at the Capitol park to make some portraits of Sarah and Kyle. Here are a few of my favorite frames from their wedding.

There’s so much to say about Lynn and Phil and their wedding at the Thomas Fogarty Winery, I’m not sure where to begin. I first met Lynn at her cousin’s wedding in Palo Alto back in 2011. Actually, I didn’t get to met her because she was busy entertaining the guest during the cocktail hour with her erhu (I think ), a Chinese violin. It became immediately obvious how gifted both Lynn and Phil were when I met up with them for the engagement session in San Francisco. I learned that they are both on track to become physicians in the very near future. After hanging out with both of them for an entire day on their engagement session and at their wedding, I can honestly say that I feel a great sense of comfort knowing these two are our future healers. At their wedding, their special family dog named Kula was made the flower girl and it was one of the most adorable thing ever. You’ll see what I’m talking about as you scroll through the photos below. My heart melted each time Kula appeared in my frame. Another thing that stood out to me about this wedding was how crazy their group of friends can party. Most of them are from their medical school, so I’m assuming these are our future doctors and they know how to have a good time!

This was during the bride and groom’s first look. 
Old and young. A hand with lots of time and wisdom touching a hand that’s just beginning a journey. Yeah, I’m sentimental like that. 
This is Kula, the flower dog. Tell me this isn’t the most adorable thing ever! She even has her own Facebook fanpage. 
It actually started to sprinkle a little as they got into their getaway car. 
This is my first destination wedding in Lake Tahoe. What an incredible venue for an outdoor wedding. I love everything about this wedding. From the amazing couple, to the venue,to all the moments I was able to capture. I absolutely love it when I’m able to document weddings that are filled with great people and real love. There was so much love surrounding Karen and Dan from all their friends and family. Never mind the beautiful location and all the fancy details in a wedding; it’s the wonderful people you surround yourself with that makes for a great wedding day. I first met Karen and Dan at my office when they came in for a consultation. We ended up finishing three bottles of wine and hanging out. It’s always good times when I can enjoy wine with people who love it. Even more fun when it’s with great people. I knew right away after our initial meeting that I was going to have a great time shooting their wedding. Here are few of my favorites from Karen and Dan’s wedding.

Dan’s dad was not able to make it to the wedding because he ended up in the hospital. Fortunately they were able to Face Time with him throughout the ceremony.
