According to Chinese superstition, rain on the wedding day is good luck for the newlyweds.\u00a0 After the traditional tea ceremony, the reception was held in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lerivagehotel.com\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Le Rivage Hotel<\/a>. The tea ceremony was really fun.\u00a0 The bridesmaids made Eli do crazy things to enter the house to see his bride. Things like wear a diaper, wear lipstick, and eat durian (a stinky fruit).<\/p>\n<p>Eli used to be one of my mentors in an outreach program at UC Davis called <a href=\"http:\/\/upwardbound.ucdavis.edu\/\">Upward Bound<\/a>.\u00a0 It was an honor to be a part of a special day of someone who has helped me become who I am today.\u00a0 I also got to see other Upward Bound friends at the wedding that I haven\u2019t seen for years.\u00a0 I wish Yen and Eli the best of luck!
